Welcome to the Coldharbour Aikido Club |
Coldharbour Aikido Club started in 1985 and is a member of the Aikido for Daily Life Association; ADL is a full member of the British Aikido Board (the governing body, recognised by UK Sports). We are a small friendly club who practice aikido in the John Venus Hall, Coldharbour, in the Surrey Hills, under the supervision of Sensei Piers Cooke 7th Dan. Aikido can be translated as "The Way of Harmony with Nature". Aikido is the thinking man's martial art. It is all about self defence, preferably by avoiding the problem in the first place. If you have to use it, the ideal is to defend yourself, whilst not harming your attacker, obviously not always possible. It is based on timing and skilful technique, rather than great strength, so it is great for men and women, the old and the young, the able and disabled. Through practice you will build confidence and fitness. It is great fun. Why not give it a go? Practice nights: Tuesday 8pm - 10pm Contact: Piers Cooke 01306 711745 Website: www.surreyhillsaikido.com |
