Nick Hunt will talk about walking from the Hook of Holland to Istanbul in 2011. He used as his only guide Patrick Leigh Fermor’s books about his walk from the Hook of Holland to Constantinople in 1933. Nick subsequently wrote an excellent book about his own journey ‘Walking the Woods and the Water’, and about the changes (many many) which have taken place in the intervening 70 years.  (Patrick Leigh Fermor had Coldharbour connections and was the subject of a History Society meeting  with his biographer, Artemis Cooper, in February 2014).
